Välähdyksiä historiasta tämän päivän käytännön elämään
Sairaalasielunhoidon tehtävä on terveydenhuollon kentällä potilaiden, heidän omaistensa ja henkilökunnan tukeminen. Vuodesta 1963 on Joensuun sairaalasielunhoito osallistunut potilaan kokonaishoitoon. Halki vuosikymmenien on työn ydinkysymyksenä kulkenut kutsumus ja kysymys: ”Kuinka oivallan potilaan hengellisen hädän.”

Sairautemme liittyvät elämämme tärkeisiin tapahtumiin, suruihin, järkytyksiin, hylkäämisiin. Onko niin, että ne kokemuksemme joita emme ole pystyeet jäsentämään ja kommunikoimaan muille hakevat sairauksien kautta ilmaisunsa myöhemmin elämässämme? Puhuuko ruumiimme vai sielumme sairauksissamme?
